Maeve is an Associate. She joined New Practice in April 2019. Prior to this, she was at Architecture and Design Scotland (A&DS) where her work involved engaging with local authorities and cross-disciplinary groups to facilitate collaboration to progress complex projects and policy across the built environment.

Maeve was one of the founding cohort of the London School of Architecture (LSA). Her thesis explored the relationship between domestic and civic life. Before, and during, her time at the LSA Maeve worked in architecture practice (DSDHA, Erect Architecture, Assael) in London. She worked on masterplan, public realm and housing projects.

At New Practice Maeve works with the Directors to lead our design team on the delivery of a wide range of projects. These range from the production of rigorous feasibility studies of varying scales of architecture, through to built design projects often with a focus on public space and (long-term) meanwhile use masterplans. Maeve often supports the facilitation of complex decision-making work as part of statutory planning applications, bringing her knowledge of policy and best practice engagement approaches to these settings.

In 2021, Maeve began a voluntary role as an Associate for Impact Arts, a Scottish charity that works to help people and communities transform their lives through art and creativity

“Alongside the design of buildings, I am interested in how the spaces in-between can create a sense of place... and how new models of citizen-led development can create more resilient housing, infrastructure and neighbourhoods”
