At New Practice, accessibility is at the forefront of our minds when creating our tools, digital media, and engagements. We want as many people as possible to be able to engage with us.
We have developed this website to ensure that it is usable by everybody, regardless of age or disability. Our site is developed to comply with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version (WCAG) 2.1 and we keep the site under review to improve both its accessibility and usability.
That means you should be able to:
change colours, contrast levels and fonts
zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
the text will reflow in a single column when you change the size of the browser window
There’s no limit to how far you can magnify the maps on our ‘contact’ page
We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.
We know some parts of this website are not yet fully accessible. But we are committed to working on solving the following issues that we have currently identified:
Not all video content is accessible to screen reader devices
you cannot modify the line height or spacing of text
some of our online forms are difficult to navigate using just a keyboard
AbilityNet provide excellent guides for individual adjustments you can make to your computer, laptop, tablet or smart phone to make it easier to use: mcmw.abilitynet.org.uk
Third party content and functionality
We make use of third party resources such as audio and video players to embed content in our website. Wherever possible we will ensure these are conformant.
Contacting us by phone or visiting us in person
We are able to provide a text relay service for people who are D/deaf, hearing impaired or have a speech impediment.
