Archiboo 2024 - shortlist: Activism Award and Best Team

The Archiboo Awards has announced the shortlist for the annual activism prize – supported by Heatherwick Studio. 6 practices, organisations and individuals have been shortlisted from the longlist of thirteen. The nominees are:

  • Deaf Architecture Front (DAF), London, for acting to support the deaf community in architectural practice;

  • The Colectivo de Arquitectas (CdA), Buenos Aires, for its protest against the redevelopment of public land;

  • Part W, London, for championing women in the built environment;

  • New Practice, Glasgow, for Waiting to Happen, a data gathering campaign for street safety in its home town;

  • Sarah Ackland, London, for its efforts towards gender equality;

  • Studio Bark, London, for its work in response to the climate crisis, and towards inclusivity in construction, and regenerative building processes.

We’re proud that Waiting to Happen, our campaign to improve cycle safety in Glasgow in memory of our sorely missed friend and colleague Emma Burke Newman, has been acknowledged and highlighted through this award.

New Practice are also delighted that our team and culture are recognised through our shortlisting for Archiboo 2024 Best Team Award. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in late May 2024.
