This year Becca was honoured to be asked by the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland, and Architect + Design Scotland to give the 2023 Andy MacMillan Memorial Lecture. Titled: Building Community, she focused on how to build community through architecture and politics that link together and, when they are done properly, make better places to be, better cities to live in, and better places to work. The talk represented the past 13 years of her shared practice with Marc Cairns and the changes in the industry that New Practice is strongly advocating for through a social value led approach.

As well as her presentation Becca was also the Guest Judge for 2023 A&DS and RIAS Scottish Student Awards in Architecture where she was delighted to see so many of the submitted and shortlisted projects focus on circular design and community.
